There’s something fantastically and iconically Australian about a country dance. To some it’s a bushdance or a barndance– to others maybe something reminiscent of a B&S Ball or even something you did at school as kids.
But to Swamp Dawkins, it’s something that will get everyone on the dance floor– without fail.
Swamp Dawkins is NOT your typical bushband– You Won’t Need to Dust Off the Band, to Dust Off Your Boots!
Swamp Dawkins takes traditional bushdances & barndances and brings them to life with energy and contemporary country-rock feel. We combine the called dances seamlessly with a fantastic repertoire of iconic Australian music to give you a night unlike any other.
Our repertoire of iconic Australian music is played in a style that’s contemporary but also in harmony with the atmosphere of a country dance. Some events, we’ll just do called dances all night, whilst other events we’ll only do one or two dances and let loose with fantastic Australian music that we all know and love. It’s up to you to set the dial and the mix of material and we’ll meet with you prior to your event so that we have everything tailored to what you want.
For country themed weddings, set in a woolshed or vineyard, or held on a property with a country feel– a country dance with Swamp Dawkins will have your guests dancing the night away.
If it’s for your 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th or even 90th–we’ve done plenty and we know how to help make your night one to remember with all your friends and family.
We play for community groups— in Sydney, throughout regional NSW and into Queensland and Victoria & well beyond the cities — who want something that will bring people together.
Many corporates will have their conferences in the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley or South Coast and the dances we do are perfect for bringing everyone together in a relaxed and amazingly enjoyable way.

We’ve done hundreds of events– all over Sydney, the Hunter, Illawarra, Blue Mountains, the Central Coast, the Golden West in central and far west NSW and into Queensland.
