We’ve got hundreds of reviews from the events we’ve done, and you simply will not find another band which gets so many reviews like ours. We may not have a gazillion social media followers- that’s because most of our events are private functions- but we’ve got hundreds of reviews instead- and you can’t buy that!
What makes us different?
There’s a few things that set us apart from other called dance country bands.
When it comes to line, barn & bush dance events- we’re not a dance instructor with a DJ or backing track.
We do the dances with a live band which means we can tailor the tempo, the rhythm, the length & style of the dances to suit your friends & family, your community & colleagues or your patrons.
And we mix the line dances and bush & barn dances throughout the night. With line dances- you’re dancing by yourself without a partner; bush & barn dances- you’re dancing with a partner and sometimes changing partners. Some dances are in lines, circles, squares, trios or sets. Some are done with music that’s contemporary country rock, some are to Irish jigs or Scottish reels- the dances we do are all different. That variety that we bring means that the dances are tailored to the crowd, the dance floor size, the atmosphere on the night and what is working for people on the night.
You won’t need to dust off the band to dust off your boots.

When we do a wide variety of called bushdances, barndances & line dances- we play them in a contemporary energetic & engaging style that gets everyone involved. The musicians in Swamp Dawkins are professional musicians with rock/ contemporary music backgrounds which brings a unique energy and style to all the events we play for.
We’re Flexible.
We have a wide repertoire of music- from iconic Australian artists, to American Country hits and great party music- that we seamlessly blend in with the traditional dances throughout the night.
We’re not a 1-trick pony. We’re flexible- whether it’s an iconic Australian Bushdance or an American themed hoedown, honkytonk or wild west party– we’ve got it covered. And we have plenty of other musical things going on with The Roadhouse Regulars, Nashville Nights feat. The TailGators and other projects under Michael Buining – Musician.
